Was just going over everything trying to figure out the playoff senerio and saw your question and figured since i was writing it visualy for myself, might as well put it here as well.

From what I'm assuming this is how it should look:

The 3 Division winners are the top seeds:

#1 seed: Maulers (10-3)
#2 seed: Sweepers (9-4)
#3 seed: Brown Stains (8-5)

Then the Wild Cards:

#4 seed: Members Only (10-3)
#5 seed: Madd Monkeys (8-5)
#6 seed: RC Rollers (6-6-1)

<u>First Round:</u>
(1) Maulers and (2) Sweepers get a first round bye

(5) Madd Monkeys @ (4) Members Only
(6) Rollers @ (3) Brown Stains

I then believe that the lowest seed to go on plays the #1 and the highest seed to win plays the #2
(If Roller wins he plays Maulers; If Brown Stains wins he plays the Sweepers, thus affecting who the other winner plays)

*None of this is official and all of this is under the assumption that the divison winners are automatically the top 3 seeds, and not seeded solely on overall records (which would put Members Only #2, Sweepers #3, Madd Monkeys #4, and Brown Stains #5). I'm pretty sure how I have it is correct after glancing over the rules and trying to remember how it was last year.

... Hell of a season by the way and can't believe i went on that run these past weeks to clinch the division. Especially beating Tomlinson and Moss this week. With only a 32 point lead and Moss and Welker going last night, I though for sure i was done! Madd Monkey's team is one hell-of-a #5 seed though <img src="/images/emoticons/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> and these playoffs should be just as close as the season was!

Good Luck Everyone!

If this is the case(which I believe it is), I'm sulking somewhat because in the regular season, I beat the Maulers both times. Every league I have ever played in always has the head to head tie breaker before points scored to determine order of finish. In fact, I was bounced out of the playoffs in All Out Blitz having scored the most points but losing head to head matchups with teams of identical records. Not sure why we have it this way?

I realize it is my own fault for not knowing the rules previously but if I had read these thoroughly over the summer, I would have brought this up then. My bad.

I will officially get off my soapbox now.

I was looking everything over and noticed that the Members have beaten the Maulers twice and in my opinion should be the top seed. I do know that head to head is the 4th tie breaker and don't understand why! I'm just asking it seems strange to me. I have called Bill to get him to check on it.. I did set up the bracket with no teams yet.. Not here to start anything I'm just wondering.

I asked Bill about it last week and he thought that before looking at the rules that head to head was the tiebreaker before points scored, however after seeing it in writing, I guess nobody ever looked? I'm not sure myself?

That was one heck of a run Boyz...nice 5 in a row and beating me in the last week for the Division & bye. <img src="/images/emoticons/Tiarzvei.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="Tiarzvei.gif" /> Your boyz definitely earned the bye.

As for the tie-breaker, I've seen a bunch and this one while slightly different, still has a ton of logic in it and is an acceptable one (1- Division record, 2 - pts scored, 3 - h2h). It just means that besides normal Record in h2h competition (vs. agg pt scored), the division title should go to the top division winner (instead of h2h) and then the division should promote the strongest team (pts scored) before any personal h2h is given preference.

There are too many different reasonable ways to determine things and while I agree with most that h2h should play a greater role, this isn't something that "bad" (no logic behind it). Just something for us to talk about and vote for during the off-season. While the Maulers were a "stronger" team, in a h2h record league, Vinnie's h2h record vs. the Maulers should have played a stronger part.

As for this week, I'm not crazy about facing Vinnie's squad. Last year I was the reg season high scorer and Vinnie kicked my *ss after my bye...the Jets' run defense completely shutting down Chester Taylor last year? <img src="/images/emoticons/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I'm afraid to see what he'll do to my 2nd highest scoring squad this year...

His voodoo doll will have Moss mooning the crowd after the first snap and getting kicked out of the game, someone will show LT the cover of Madden, A. Johnson will see Sage Rosenfeld throwing to him, Welker will realize that he's came from nowhere and will repeat last weeks performance...etc, etc.

Vinnie has that effect on my squad....

Good luck to all and this was another great year in the RIJ. <img src="/images/emoticons/icon_hammer.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":icon_hammer:" border="0" alt="icon_hammer.gif" /> <img src="/images/emoticons/icon_hammer.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":icon_hammer:" border="0" alt="icon_hammer.gif" /> <img src="/images/emoticons/icon_hammer.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":icon_hammer:" border="0" alt="icon_hammer.gif" />

It certainly sucks on my end as I went from what should have been a #1 seed and the easiest schedule to a #4 seed and what will be if I win the most difficult schedule.
