Default salary and years questions

i ended up winning a couple players...kolb/gaffney. i notice that there salaries right now are the moneys i used to bid on them. do they stay like that? or do i have to sign them to a salary? i also picked up mayes and goldson on first come first serve.

i also notice that alot of my players still don't have years attached, mostly rookies

here are the years i would like for my players
kolb - 3 years - salary?
bernard scott - 3 years
gaffney - 2 years - salary?
maclin - 4 years
Massaquoi - 3 years
pettigrew - 3 years
raji - 2 years
mayes - 3 years - salary?
goldson - 3 years - salary?

In the past, free agents added via waivers had no salary and a 1 year contract. I don't know why the following rule is crossed out on the website:
D. Pre-season/In-season free agency – Waivers
10. Bid amounts paid by winning teams are subtracted from that team’s available waiver funds when the players are awarded. These amounts paid to acquire players through the waivers process are NOT salary. Free agents acquired through the waivers process are deemed to have 1-year, zero dollar contracts for cap and contract-limits purposes. Free agents acquired through the waivers process may be RFA’d using the process defined in section IV.B.5 to determine the applicable salary level.

In accordance with the rules, rookie contracts should have been declared in this thread. Since you didn't declare your contracts then, all of your rookies should have only 1-year contracts.
C. Rookie draft
5. Rookies may be signed for their contract amount for either 1, 2, 3 or 4 years. Rookies will be paid their salary each year of their contract, including year 1.
6. Terms of the rookie contracts (whether they will be signed for 1, 2, 3 or 4 years must be communicated to the Commissioner on or before a date to be announced each year by the commissioner no later than the end of the Rookie Draft (Target = August 25th.)

None of the rookie contracts (even those properly declared) have been updated on MFL. Perhaps the commissioner should take an hour or two on this league. He would be the one to properly answer your questions. My suggestion is that you email him with your questions as well, if you haven't already.

Don't know why your rookies don't have contract years. We declared that at least a month before season started.

As for vets picked up on waivers or through the rookie draft, they have one year contracts only.
Waiver pick ups are zero salary.
Vets taken in rookie draft are salaried at the value of the rookie pick or $850k, which ever is lower.

The only way to keep a vet taken in draft or waivers is to RFA him next year.
His salary will be determined by his rank at his position and the average salary of the player above and below him.

If Gaffney finishes between Nate Washington and Mark Clayton
If Washington's salary is $1.0mil
and Clayton's is $5.0 mil
Then Gaffney's salary for RFA purposes will be $3.0 mil.

The above is from memory, so don't shoot me if I am wrong.

FYI

1) Not all the teams declared rookie contracts

2) The website was not updated to include the rookie contract years

Did not notice that. So what's one to do about it?
Let's not lose a good thing that FFPIL can be.

My apologies gents...things have been crazy. I have updated the rookie contracts on the site. There was actually only 1 team that I did not receive contracts for. Scranton sent it to me in a PM.
